Across the gatherings of South Street Baptist Church, we are committed to following Jesus and therefore, building an inclusive community which welcomes, includes and loves all people.
As we continue to journey together, we have agreed the following Statement of Inclusion:
South Street Baptist Church believes that all people are
loved by God and made in God’s image.
We strive to include everyone in church life, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, physical and mental ability, neurodiversity, education, class, economic status and political outlook etc.
Inclusion means that a person’s identity, as above, doesn’t exclude them and gives them the same opportunity as anyone else to be a church member or to hold a position of responsibility.
Our inclusion of everyone acknowledges those who may struggle with our commitment to offering this to all, and calls each of us to graciously live together in the community of Christ regardless of our differences.
